Hello … and welcome
I’m glad you stopped by
my name is Kathy Mosley
creative … entrepreneur … and quite a few other things too
i look forward to connecting
After calling Chicago home for over 20 years
I was ready for my next challenge
actually … I was completely OVER the cold and snow … and was ready to thaw out …
in October of 2019 I left my consulting job …
and my husband … NOT OFFICIALLY … he stayed in Chicago until June 2020 when he retired from the City
I closed up my business and packed up the U-Haul … and enjoyed an extended roadtrip along Route 66
until i arrived in sunny
Scottsdale, Arizona
I wasn’t exactly sure what my plan was gonna be … but while living in Atlanta I had been a REAL ESTATE agent with Coldwell Banker so that career path was certainly one of my many options
but then …
COVID happened EVERYONE decided to reinvent themselves as real estate agents
I flipped … … quite literally more accurately … … I adapted
one of the things I am best at
FLIPPING … literally
seemed like the perfect solution
I spent the next 18 months
designing … remodeling … managing … and selling 3 houses
this was not “new” territory for me
I have been in and around construction for most of my life … flipping my first home when I was only 19 years old … while working on my own projects I was able to learn a variety of DIY skills and I was also made it a point to learn as much as possible from the professionals that helped me out along the way
click here to see pics from those flips
this seems as good a time as any to share a few details of my “colorful” past with you
my parents owned a business
I inherently learned to implement their business acumen and effectively apply various dynamic strategies to ALL ASPECTS of my life … and I’m not only grateful for that education … but certain it has played a role in my continued professional advancement
it also explains my soft spot for entrepreneurs
work smarter … NOT harder easier said than done … which is actual point of the challenge
and arguably, the single most difficult aspect of being an owner/operator
You need to be aware of what you know … but even more so of what you DO NOT know
this next piece is where things get tricky … and extremely difficult for many to capitalize upon
HAVING THE CAPACITY TO BE HONEST ABOUT YOUR LIMITATIONS
and then … DO NOT BE AFRAID TO ASK FOR HELP
it takes a village
BUILDING a business requires a commitment to building a team
and those who are most successful do those two things in reverse order
